About us

It started with a dream.
Literally.

MyAdAssist, Inc. is a founder-led, pre-seed company based in Bristol, Tennessee. Here's who's behind it, and why.

Hi, I'm Daniel. I'm the founder of MyAdAssist, and I'm building it full time.

Why I started MyAdAssist

I started MyAdAssist the morning I had a very vivid dream about this exact technology: helping people act on the ads they see, directly from whatever device they're watching. In the dream, I picked up a remote, pressed a single button, and ordered a doll for my three-year-old daughter, right from the ad on the screen. No pausing. No searching. No figuring out where to buy it.

I woke up knowing it was more than a dream. Real life proves it all the time: not long ago my daughter fell in love with a toy she saw in a YouTube video. I never went looking for it, and today I can't even tell you what it was. Every family has a story like that. Every advertiser loses a sale like that.

Since that morning I've filed a provisional patent, completed an independent prior-art search, documented the full system architecture, and incorporated the company. Now that dream is almost a reality.

Twenty years of finding the signal

I've spent more than 20 years in cybersecurity: detection engineering, security architecture, incident response, and regulatory compliance. When you strip away the jargon, most of that work comes down to one skill: building systems that spot what matters in a flood of noise, and then act on it quickly and reliably. MyAdAssist applies that same discipline to something a lot more pleasant than cyber threats: the things people actually want.

Most recently, as an Information Security Specialist at McAfee, I integrated AI into our cyber threat intelligence program. It automated research and analysis that used to eat up hours of an analyst's day, cutting that manual effort by about 80%, and delivered daily reporting all the way up to the CISO. Before McAfee I built a credit union's enterprise security program from the ground up, led a 15-person security operations team for a healthcare client, ran my own security consultancy, and scaled IT for a law firm that grew from 12 to 200 employees in under six months.

That background shapes how I'm building this company. MyAdAssist will handle orders, payment preferences, and personal information, so privacy, consent, and security are designed in from the very first phase, not bolted on later.

Teaching AI, not just using it

One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been helping other people get comfortable with AI. I routinely train colleagues, friends, and family to use AI effectively in both their professional and personal lives. I believe the best technology is the kind that quietly removes friction from everyday life, which is exactly what MyAdAssist is meant to do.

I'm also continuing my own education. I'm pursuing a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Strategy & Innovation at Wake Forest University, and I hold a B.S. in Molecular Biosciences & Biotechnology from Arizona State University.

Outside of work

Home is Bristol, Tennessee, where I live with my family in the mountains of East Tennessee, and where you'll often find me outdoors. I also write tabletop role-playing adventures, which I publish under my imprint, Masq Games. Writing adventures and building a company have more in common than you'd think: both start as an idea in your head, and both only work when other people can step into it and make it their own.

Let's talk

If you're an investor or advisor and you see what I see, I'd love to hear from you. I'm happy to share the investor deck, walk through the roadmap, or just talk about the idea.
